Intended to be used on a software keyboard, or other input screen to enable symbol input, as opposed to alphabetical or numeric input.
📅 Input Symbols was approved as part of Unicode 6.0 in 2010
under the name “Input Symbol for Symbols”
and added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015.
